Bizmen donate bldg to SPED school

ROXAS City — The Roxas City Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCFCCCI) donated a two-classroom building for persons with disability (PWDs) to President Manuel Roxas Memorial School (PMRMS) – Special Education (SPED) School.

The Feed the Hungry Inc. (FTHI) is a co-donor of the school building.

FTHI is an international nongovernment organization engaged in activities that uplift the lives of indigent and disabled sector of society in terms of education, health, feeding and nutrition, and livelihood.

The building, which costs P700,000, was built with steel doors and comfort rooms specifically designed for PWDs.

It already has electricity lines, lighting fixtures, electric fans and blackboards.
Vice Mayor Ronnie Dadivas led the inauguration and turnover of the building yesterday.
On the other hand, Erwin Paul Cristobal, a representative of FTHI, led the ceremonial unveiling of the marker of the building.

He was assisted by Dadivas, RCFCCCI President Leny Apaitan, Mayor Angel Alan Celino and Assistant City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Miguel Mac Aposin.

The PMRMS-SPED School has been a recipient of various projects and fund-raising activities that Dadivas has facilitated.

Dadivas said he has committed to help disadvantaged children and give them the best possible chance to live, love, grow and excel.

In a previous partnership with the FTHI, Dadivas also facilitated the donation of teaching equipment and tools to the school to enhance the skills of SPED teachers and the learning of special children.(FELIPE CELINO/PN)
