Panay River Development Visit

A small city full of nostalgia….walk along the longest beach in Panay island, take a bite of the freshest, tastiest and cheapest seafood, and see the sights along Panay River as you go on a River cruise. Just recently, the Province has been voted into third place as a prime tourism spot by the various members of the Philippine Tourism Association.

Setting out to tour the various jetty port stations of the envisioned River Tour Sightseeing Cruise from the Roxas City Plaza
In a bid to cash in on the fast growing local tourism industry, Roxas City, with Vice Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas as the Sangguniang Panlungsod Chairman of Tourism in consultation with the various sectors involved in the tourism industry have been in common consensus to develop tourism starting with the development of the Panay River which crisscrosses the city through the establishment of a river tour project.

This project envisions the establishment of thirteen (13) tour terminals and berthing stations located in strategic areas of the city with Tour Boats operating in set routes around the city to offer the visitor a view of Roxas City from the river and have a venue for rest and relaxation. This also gives the visitor a chance to see the various facets of nature in the mangroves.

Just recently, concept designs and plans of the Panay River Development Project were proposed for funding by national agencies and this was favorably responded to by the Department of Tourism and the Department of Public Works and Highways by sending its representatives to assess the project with our Vice Mayor as their Tour Guide and authority to the Project. Pictures of this assessment tour have been taken below.
