School Water Filter Project Ceremonial Turn-over & Distribution

JANUARY 9, 2014     3:00 P.M.    PMRMS SOUTH

Sustained relief efforts for the typhoon Yolanda victims continue to arrive as the Attila Balgos Foundation through Dr. Abundio Balgos together with U.P. College of Medicine Alumni based in the United States, donated 32 sets of Water Filter Systems to public school beneficiaries. The project which will greatly benefit our school children was facilitated by Vice Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas and Deped City Schools Division Supt. Dr. Miguel 'MAC' Aposin.  To receive the water filter systems personally were 32 Principals of various Public elementary schools of Roxas City.

24th Session of the Sangguniang Panlungsod  January 7, 2014

The privilege hour was opened by Hon. Cesar Yap followed by Hon. Cora Balgos Tiangco who tackled the 10 causes of global warming.  Vice Mayor Ronnie T. Dadivas then relinquished his chair to Hon. Powell Del Rosario in order to avail of the privilege hour with a speech entitled - Club 804.  In his speech, Club 804 pertained to the 804 casuals of the Roxas City Government who failed to receive the full compensation for 5 months work, although the budget had already been approved by the Sangguniang Panlungsod as early as Dec. 17, 2013 supposedly in time for christmas.  Hon. Dadivas expressed his desire to propose an ordinance together with the chairwoman committee on Labor, requiring the prompt, exact and fair payment of wages of casuals in consonance to the provisions of the labor code.

WELCOMING THE ATENEO TECHNICAL TEAM – ATENEO INNOVATION CENTER

Headed by Mr. Paul Cabacungan, 7 MEMBERS OF THE Ateneo Techincal team arrived to install   Solar Clean Water systems in 20 barangays of Roxas City and Capiz which were  hit by Typhoon Yolanda. Donated by Ateneo de Manila University, in coordination with  ‘The Women of Ateneo'  for the Capiz Project! First 2 installations were finished today at Alba Village, Brgy. Dingginan and at Punta Barra, Roxas City.
